I stood outside my parent’s house away from the dim glow of city lights and could see the night sky so clearly. It had been a while since I looked at the stars and I was struck by their beauty and the sheer number of them.
Amazing patterns of stars, some brighter than others stretching across the night sky. I couldn’t help but to recognize the extravagant nature of our creator. What real purpose did all of these stars serve?
Sure, many seafarers have appreciated the never changing order of the night sky. Yet, why? Why did God take the time to create a spectacularly large universe and put us in it.
The answer is simple. He is extravagant and creative. Its his very nature.
When He creates, He creates extravagantly. When He supplies a need, He supplies it abundantly. When He heals, He heals completely.
He wants to be known. He wants us to look at the stars and marvel at how creative and extravagant His love is toward us. Once we recognize this attribute about Him, we can experience His extravagance in all areas of our lives.
